mate-polkit-common software package provides MATE authentication agent for PolicyKit-1 (common files), you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install mate-polkit-common
mate-polkit-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the mate-polkit-common package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep mate-polkit-common *
You will get with mate-polkit-common package name, version, architecture and description in a table
